Doctor

Not too surprised to ear that Deakon has infection in both ears... and that little rattle that I thought was his snotty nose- is actually in his chest... how fun...

Am I ready? Really...

As I rocked Deakon to sleep today (not normal... I am pretty sure he has an ear infection that we are getting checked out tonight) I couldn't help but look around and notice the huge mess that I have been meaning to clean up for days. Legos, socks, animals, books, and every toddler sport equipment you can think of are scattered in every direction. As much as I knew that I needed to get started, I took my time looking at my precious little babe and thinking about his future. As parents we want the best for him. The first things that pop into my head are being well-liked, being good at sports, being successful, getting an education, and not thinking that his parents are out to ruin his life... But are these things really what matter the most? What about the whole aspect of being a man... being humble, respectful, honest, hard-working, and knowing who he really is... a child of God. That all falls on us... teaching him to pray, read his scriptures, to have an incredible relationship with his Heavenly Father and older brother. Showing him how to treat others and how to raise his future family. It is absolutely overwhelming... and I really hope we step up to the plate and do a good job... I love you buddy...

It's a miracle!

NO... the miracle is not that our computer fixed itself... it is that I am FINALLY on here documenting the past few weeks! We don't really know what to do about our laptop- all of our quotes are a bit high so... we aren't sure if we will get it fixed or just save up for a new one. I acutally found out that I have all of the home videos since last July and we have all of the pictures that I have sent to people and put on the blog for the last year so I guess I won't be totally out of luck with memories.

Anywho, I have like 17 pics to share, most are from this past weekend when my little man turned 2! Wow, where have the last 2 years gone? I now hang out with a little boy that tells me that things are "cool", "nice", or "funny(said with a fake laugh)". He also lets me know when he wants to "watch tb(tv)" or "clean up." His other favorites are "come on" "hold my ham(hand)" "stand up(because heaven forbid I play hockey on my knees)" "walk ou side" "hungee food(I'm hungry and want food NOW)" "pay pano(play piano)" Ok, enough with that, I could go on for days bragging about Deakon... so now for the pics:

I had to take this picture because it just shows how big he is getting! Another few feet and he will be bigger than the crib!

Chillin eating some popcorn:

Does yogurt and mom checking her email count as a craft?:

Deakon thinks he is smarter than mom... I told him no more crackers and left the room for no more than 2 minutes... I think I'm in trouble:

We got an awesome package from Papa Steve and Nana Marilyn. In it was a gift card to buy Deakon a bike... and we GLADLY did. He can't get enough of it. It is still a bit big, but he trys to ride it CONSTANTLY. We gave it to him a day early(Saturday) and it was a huge mistake because it was impossible to get him ready for his Chuck E. Cheese birthday party. He wouldn't even take a bath- and he loves baths. I basically got him dressed while he was riding.

Saturday night we headed off to Chuck E. Cheese to let Deakon run wild. And run he did! He was so excited about everything I hardly got any pictures because he was off to the next game. We are definitely going back soon.
Eva, Papa, Gamma, and Kyle... oh Kyle... seriously?

Sadly, this is the only picture of Deakon and I:

Bret and Deakon:
I am proud to say that I beat Kyle TWICE at this game... thank you very much:
Bret, Deakon, and Gamma

Sunday we had a birthday dinner for Deakon and Bret (Bret's birthday is today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRET!!!) Bret wanted a St. Patty's Day theme so we had fun with it:

Deakon and Bret (sorry Bret, this is the best pic I took):

And last, but certainly not least is this PERFECT new quilt for Deakon made with lots of love by my beautiful and talented mother! We love it!
