Hanging in Utah

These are just some pics of the first few days we were in Utah hanging out with the family.  We missed them so much we got nothing done but running around the house playing.  It was exactly what we needed.

Deakon and Grandma:
Shrek:
Luke and Judson- Judd (Danny and Becky's son) turned 1 in April and Luke (Debbie and Christian's son) turned 1 in May and they are some big boys.  27 pounds each... they are going to be bigger than Deakon next time he sees them:
Judson, Luke, Conner, and Deakon:
My mom took Luke and Deakon for a ride in the wagon.  Not surprisingly, Deakon got bored and decided that he needed to pull the wagon home.  This picture makes me laugh and laugh because of my mom and Luke's face.  Poor Luke... ha ha ha

Work it... work it

I had my mom take some pics of me for a few reasons. Number 1, Kyle sucks at taking decent pictures of his wife. I seriously look like I am drunk or pregnant in all of them. Sorry for saying you suck babe. I love you lots. Number 2, a few people have been complaining that I don't put any pictures of myself on here- which brings us back to reason number one. I am NOT drunk or pregnant! Thanks mom, I like I look pretty much like myself in these, although my mom-in-law asked if I was on a stripper pole... DOREEN... geez...

Soccer/Yard Work

I am a bit behind on my blog, so before I start adding pictures from Utah, I thought I would put these on. This summer, Bret is playing soccer for the Cochrane Rangers and we finally made it down to see one of his games. Deakon was pumped and loved finding Uncle Buck out on the field. He actually watched quite awhile before getting down and running around under the bleachers. It was fun watching Bret and hanging out with Eva. Deakon was especially excited to see his Gamma ride down on her bike.

Ron and Doreen have been working really hard in their front yard "fixing" the old homeowner's idea of landscaping. I feel really bad because I was out taking these pictures of Deakon and I could have taken a "before" picture. They will have it all finished by the time we get back so we will have to post an after picture. Deakon loves going outside and digging in the dirt and he was so happy that he was allowed to put on this dirty hard hat and run around hitting pieces of wood.

We really did make it...

Lily and Deakon:
Finding the toys... no help needed:
In the airport parking lot:
Following Stake around:

So... maybe a few people are wondering if we even made it to Utah... we definitely did!  AND have been so busy seeing everybody and chilling with my mummy that I have not really have much time to blog or load pics from my camera.  The plane ride went fairly smooth.  It was only 90 minutes so not too bad.  We had some new toys and lots of snacks... but they only lasted for the first hour and then Deakon wouldn't stop asking to get out of his car seat.  I was a very mean mom and told him too bad and when I couldn't get him to play with anything or eat, I told him to "sit there and suck your thumb" while I took a 10 minute mini-nap.  Seriously... I was so tired after waking up at 4:30 AM!!!  He survived... and I don't think I caused any permanent damage.  :)  I am sure I looked interesting walking to the baggage claim pushing a stroller, lugging a car seat, and having a back pack, diaper bag, and purse hugging my body.  Good thing my mom came in to help!  It was really fun having so many people come over when I got here!  Thanks everyone for coming.  After 9 months, it feels good to know that nobody forgot us!  I will have more pics to show later!

Free Deakon!

Deakon is not immune to time-out once, or twice, or several! times a day. That usually means sitting on the stairs wiggling around and delaying his 2 minutes to 10 minutes because he thinks he is so funny getting down. Today I was in the middle of vacuuming and he ran his little hiney upstairs with a hockey stick and started smacking "the parents" things. Instant time out. I wanted to just finish up so I told him he would have to have time out in his crib. Less than 1 minute later, I hear a door SLAM... I shut the vacuum off and looked around hurriedly... to see Deakon's "innocent" little body standing in the middle of the room with his arms stretched out and proudly yelling, "Hi mommy!"
GREAT..... he has finally figured out how to climb out of the only thing that contains him anymore... Now what?
(Not Deakon below... this kid is super cute though!)

The Golden Frog

I was forced to take this picture of Kyle at Pier 1... still not sure why....
I told him that if he I did, it would make a post. ENJOY!

2 seconds earlier and we could have seen a full moon out on the river...
what an example. In public, no less...

LOVE YOU BABE! YOU MAKE ME LAUGH EVERYDAY!

Forgetting...

I keep forgetting that I want to write Deakon's height and weight here... I always forget and I want to know to compare for our other kiddos. It's from March when he turned 2, but as of 3 weeks ago, it was pretty much the same. 36 inches tall, and 29 pounds! Good job Deaky-B! Now for a real post- see "May Long... weekend" below!

MAY LONG... weekend!

It has only been 3 weeks... oops... since May Long Weekend (similiar to Memorial Weekend-just the weekend before), but I have all of these pictures so I might as well use them! We had lots of fun on the long weekend. We drove out to Bragg Creek to see Elbow Falls and went and played at Bowness Park in Calgary. The only thing missing was a kick-butt BBQ... but we keep forgetting to get propane. :( The GF Patisserie even has GF buns! We need to get things going for summer!
Most of the group- Kyle, Jenn, Justin, Bret, and Eva:
Deakon:

Loving the slide:
The park is along the Bow River so we went done and played for a bit:
Climbing the rocks- I should have put pants on this poor kid- he was all scraped up:
Kyle and Deak:
Taking a break:

"Riding" a bike with Bret- pretty sure he was most interested in the helmet:
Throwing the football around:
Cheesing it up:

Elbow Falls. Not the best view, but I didn't want to climb up to get a good one:
Base of the falls, I wanted to go in this cave so bad:
Jenn, Justin, and Kyle checking out the view:
Deaky-B chillin:

I pretty much almost died...

***WARNING: DON'T READ THIS POST IF YOU DON'T LIKE READING ABOUT ALL OF THE DETAILS OF THE HUMAN BODY***
So, I pretty much almost died today... Sounds a bit exaggerated... maybe...
I woke up this morning feeling fine. We had breakfast and I took Deakon downstairs to find some toys to keep him occupied while I finished up the last 20 minutes of SYTYCD. (sooooo excited for this season!) While watching I started feeling like I had to pee...bad... although I had gone right when I woke up. So, I run to the bathroom... nothing... no liquid at all. Geez. I immediately think, great, UTI. Guess I should buy some cranberry juice and maybe call the doctor. I wasn't in too much of a hurry- mostly because I didn't have access to a car until Kyle came home from lunch at 1. I settled back in to finish the show.
10 minutes later my kidney started hurting.
Wait... BACK UP 6 months... I have been battling this "flank" pain for the past 6 months. I have had x-rays, ct scans, ultrasounds, urine tests- you name it. AND EVERY TEST COMES BACK WITH NOTHING. In my head, I am sure it is a kidney stone, but nobody can find the darn thing.
So... 10 minutes later... I have to pee even more ferociously and my whole kidney is aching....
another 10 minutes... worse... I can't bend my body without pain shooting through my side.
another 10 minutes... I call the doctor and the soonest they can see me is 12:45. It is 10:00. I want to die... I am now hunched over, crying.
5 minutes later, I call Kyle and tell him to get his little butt home and take me to the doctor. I can't sit down, lay down, pee, change Deakon's clothes, talk. All I can do is cry.
20 minutes later Kyle FINALLY walks in the door. I am kneeled over crying and Deakon is super worried about why "mama sad and cying"
The 10 minute car ride was THE LONGEST 10 MINUTES OF MY LIFE. I feel like I can't breath... I am trying not to puke my brains out because of the pain...
I run into the doctor's office... they look at me and say "The soonest we can see you is in over an hour" I look at her with my tear-stained face and blood-shot eyes and TRY to kindly tell her, "I CAN'T WAIT!" Her eyes shoot open and she asks where the pain is, "MY KIDNEY" She tells me that they will get me seen right away and asks if I could give a urine sample. "MAYBE" I hurry into the bathroom and nothing much happened. I try and try, but nothing is coming out. I finally decide to go back out to tell them, but then I talk myself into trying just one more time. Liquid comes gushing out... with 2 ITTY BITTY STONES! My pain immediately disappeared. I couldn't believe it... these little tiny things almost killed me. I felt like it was a miracle that I was still alive.
Here are some pics of those little killers. Mine were more like the ones on the bottom right.

I feel so bad for anyone who has had to deal with these things. So I hear, I will probably be given the chance to give birth to one of these little babies again in my life. KILL ME NOW... That is about all for my dramatic post of the month...

Happy Birthday Papa STEVE!!!

First of all, I want to wish Papa Steve a very very very happy birthday! We love you lots and had so much fun seeing you in April. Deakon never forgets who you are- he can point you out in pictures and always reminds us that he got his bike from Papa Nana Steve. I need to work on that one... ha ha. We hope you have a fabulous day and wish upon you all of the happiness in the world!
I have been a bit of a slacker with blogging. I hate when I do this because I miss writing about so many fun things. Plus, I forget to take pictures. My mind has been preoccupied with dreaming about all of the fun things I will get to do in Utah. All of the times I hope I get to eat at Chipotle... don't be surprised if I suggest to eat there every time I leave the house. I am really excited to buy a ton of GF Chex and other GF products that are cheaper and easier to find. My parents booked their time share for 3 days while I am there so I am REALLY looking forward to chillin by the pool, playing games all night, and shopping in Park City. But I need to keep my mind set on getting things done around here. Getting all of the laundry done (I always have such a problem doing laundry...) getting the house clean, making sure I have all of the right documents for crossing the border, and actually packing clothes! It doesn't seem like much, but the more I think about it, the longer I put it off, and NOTHING gets done. I guess the actual day before I leave I will be found sitting in a corner in the fetal position... all because I don't have any planning skills! So, the whole point of this post was to share some pics and now I can't find my camera... guess you will have to wait until I find it. Peace out fellas...
