So sorry...

I feel terrible about not posting anything new lately. I have been occupied with thoughts of finding new tenants (wish those new tenants were Me :( JK... i ...umm... LOVE canada...), trying to eat (i am still losing weight... not so good...) and dealing with the joy of getting our Jeep out of the shop after being worked on for 2 weeks, and then promptly being HIT while parked in the front of the house. Luckily, there are some honest people out there so now we just have to deal with getting it back in the shop to be re-worked on. I have a few pictures to post so I will have to get to that tomorrow. I am very tired- I have been battling KSL for the last hour and half listing our condo for rent. I was completely done TWICE and it erased everything! I did learn my lesson after the first time and copied what I had written the second time so the 3rd time I didn't have to re-write everything. I just wanted to do a bit of self-advertising and send the word out that our beloved condo in Lehi will be available for rent on NOVEMBER 1st so let us know if you know any good people out there looking for a rockin' place. Some old posts...

We are really excited for baby Gerrie number 2! Thanks for all of the congrats and well wishes. We are officially 13 weeks and 2 days... we told a little earlier than planned, but I feel like I look way further along than that and I was sick of feeling fat and not being able to tell anyone. I have been pretty sick the last 7 weeks, but am finally starting to feel better and Kyle says that I am starting to act more normal (he has it is his head that I am a crazy person the 1st trimester... ya right, I'll show him crazy....) jk. I wrote a few posts about things during the last 2 months if you wanna check them out:

August 21st: Give me juice

July 22nd: Just call me prego

July 21st: I knew it

What to say? What to think?

Thursday September 10th started out as just a normal day... but now it will be a day that we will never forget. We were told that Kyle's dad, Steve, had passed away. As we sat, speechless, slowly shaking our heads, time seemed to stop... what do you say? what do you do? I was quickly thinking that this must be some sort of bad dream, but it wasn't. Now Kyle is off in Ontario, and I wish to be there. I want to be there for him... to help ease his pain... but I also want to be there for me- because Steve holds a special place in my heart. How can I forget that within 1 hour of meeting him, I could not stop staring at his lips, and silently thanking him for passing on such lips to his son, and hoping that my children would be blessed with the same sexy pout? I will never forget that he put me at ease from the very beginning and never forgot to ask about the weather during each and every phone conversation we had. Quite possibly my all time favorite vacation included almost a full week of fun in the sun and daily back bacon cooked by none other than Steve Gerrie. Laughing until my gut hurt listening to him spelling words to prove his skills, falling asleep in his camping chair, and noticing how he and Kyle continually held their arms/bodies in the same positions as each other. I will forever cherish the day I saw him hold my brand new baby boy and the joy that shown in his eyes. I long to give you one more hug, to hear you laugh at something silly that Deakon has done, and read your random emails about animals. Steve, we love you... I love you...

Labour Day Weekend... yes that U should be there... we are in Canada after all

I can't make this picture move down to the bottom so my little Molly update will get to be first! Meri and Shane and Molly's birthparents met up today with the judge and made everything OFFICIAL! After a long weekend of visiting Molly at the hospital, they are now back at the hotel with their beautiful little girl! Congrats again to the happy family and never-ending thanks to the incredible birthmom for her selfless gift that she has given to Meri and Shane.

Labour Day Weekend in Cochrane is busy and so much fun! It is a big deal with an outhouse race, 4-day rodeo, parade, and a free BBQ. Now... many of you might be asking yourself, "hmm... what is an outhouse race?" I was asking myself that same question with a foul look on my face. Basically, local businesses and places around Cochrane build outhouses, complete with a rider inside, and race up and down main street. It is fairly amusing and I was glad we went. As you can see, Kyle was not so happy... too bad:

First outhouses of the race, Fringes Hair Salon VS. the Boy Scouts:

Next, ATB VS. Big Hill Lodge:

There were quite a few outhouses, but I had to throw this picture in. This outhouse was from Doreen's work, Bethany Care Center. The fake butts and lumpy nurses cracked me up:

Deakon was really into it at one point cheering away:

Deakon's absolute favorite, the employees dressed as Sesame Street characters:

Monday morning, we woke up and had a big YUMMY breakfast with Ron, Doreen, Bret, and Eva and then headed down to watch the parade:

Deakon was pretty excited, but kept asking to watch the cars (outhouses) again. We tried to distract him promising cowboys on horses:

Probably Deakon's favorite, Cochrane's kids BMX club:

He also really liked all of the marching bands. I had to throw this weird picture in because it is the only one with me, or my hoody, in it:

Running to pick up the candy:

These airplanes were fun, racing around in circles all the way down the street. Deakon was a bit confused about why they weren't in the air:

After the parade, we headed home for Deakon's nap, and then caught the end of the Rodeo. We got their for the best event, bull riding. Deakon was in heaven:

Afterwards, we walked around and said hi to all of the cows and horses.

That was about it for our weekend. I can't wait until next year. We had fun doing a bunch of things we have never done before as a family. Now before I head out, I must give Deakon a shout-out for his AWESOME, STUPENDOUS, INCREDIBLE, RAD job at being a successful toilet user. We have had no accidents since Thursday and he pretty much goes by himself. I forgot for like 2 hours to ask him if he needed to go and then I saw him with no underwear on and went and checked and he totally went by himself. He is such a big boy. I can't even believe how much older he seems now. Good job buddy! Enjoy the underwear pics... they are just so cute.

I tried to get him to pose for this one, and he had to grab his hockey stick and play hockey while yelling cheese:

A very long 3,111 and one half days....

or... we could go with after a very long wait of 8 years, 6 months, and 11.5 days... Meri and Shane are the PROUD parents of
MOLLY MACAYLA JACOBS!!!
Born September 3, 2009
6 pounds, 15 ounces
20.5 inches long
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
I am so excited to be an aunt and to take down the note on the side of my blog telling all that they are adopting!!! I can't think of anybody that deserves this more than these two. I honestly feel that they will be the BEST parents ever. Between their cooking, game-playing, scouting skills, sewing projects, garden growing, world traveling, and all of their life experience how could they not be! Congrats to Meri and Shane. We love you so much and can't wait to see Molly!

I wish we were more awesome...

Ok, so I have been completely slacking on my blogging... BUT seriously, nothing, and I mean NOTHING is going on at our house but asking "Deakon, do you need to pee?" "Deakon, can you please try to go?" "KYLE, please grab me a towel and the carpet cleaner" "START the bath... again" "Do you want Spiderman, Sesame Street, or Car underwear?" "Good job, do you want to choose a treat?" Is it pathetic that we are now going on day 6 here and haven't had a completely successful poop? It is our fault... Saturday and Sunday we wimped out on taking him out of the house without a diaper and confused him. SO... I am happy to say that yesterday we had success with no diaper for naptime. Hopefully, we can do the same today and I don't end up changing sheets and disinfecting everything in an hour. We also had 2 successful outings, running errands yesterday for an hour, and grocery store today will no accidents! I think the grocery store today was only successful because he got to pick new potty treats. :) Whatever works, right?

I did forget to mention on our camping-hail storm outing that we had some major hail damage to our jeep. The hood and the whole passenger side had hundreds of little dings in the metal. Luckily we have the hard top and plastic fenders so they were fine. We took it into the shop today to be fixed... we had an estimate done a few weeks ago... $6500. Thank goodness for insurance and a $250 deductable. We don't have rental coverage so we are out a car for the long weekend. :( I am going to start feeling 15 again asking for rides. BUT, there is nothing wrong with being 15. That was the good life. All I worried about was getting my tan on during my breaks at Magic Waters and scoping out hotties... :)
