After we got home from Utah, we were still in the mood to do fun stuff. Most weekends when we get together with people, we usually end up at somebody's house watching a movie and chillin' (which we have NO problems with because it means we can put Deakon to bed and still hang out). We decided to do something different and after unsuccessfully getting a lane for bowling, we opted to go the the University of Calgary for a basketball game. It was a really good idea, until after the first 15 minutes when we were really regretting turning down Doreen's offer of keeping Deakon. Not that he wasn't into the game, he just didn't want to sit down and the game didn't start until 8. His bedtime is usually 8:30 and when he gets tired he GETS CRAZY busy. So Deakon and I spent most of the game running around the track that surrounds the court. I guess it wasn't too bad because I still got to watch, but it would have been nice to sit and catch up with the ladies. Ok, I'll be honest for Kyle's sake- I was pretty p'd off by the end!!! We would love to go again, BUT NO almost 3-year-olds ALLOWED!!! Anyway, here is one of the only pictures I was in the mood to take of my naughty, yet not really naughty boy. (I mean come on, all the other kids got to run around and see the mascot and get fifty billion drinks of water and play on the gym mats)
Kyle turned the big 3-0 on Feb 16th!!! We ended up surprising him with dinner when he got home from work on Family Day (he was the only one out of all of us that had to work :( sorry babe) but it worked out because we had all day to shop and cook for the night. We yelled surprise when we walked in the door, which turned out to be pretty funny because from that angle you can't see the kitchen so he had no idea why I was sitting there taking a picture of him. Ha ha, it makes me laugh right now because we probably looked ridiculous.
It was seriously SO MUCH FUN! There were 5 in our group with a whole bunch of teenagers, but who cares. Kyle and I haven't been since we were dating 5 years ago and apparently didn't remember how great it was running and dodging about in the dark with guns. This will definitely be a repeat for us- maybe after Nixon is born. :) (PS- only 28 more days!)
Anyway, hope you had a great birthday babe!!!
