ONTARIO, CANADA
We are off to Ontario tomorrow morning (6 AM- yikes!) for 11 days!!! We have been looking forward to and saving for this trip for awhile. I am SO, SO, SO EXCITED to go and see Kyle's family, meet some friends, and of course, most importantly, see why Toronto is one of Kyle's favorite places ever.

My Little Deakon Boy...
My little Deakon is my favorite ever! I take so many pictures of him constantly. Here are some from the past week that I loved.
Deakon got a hold of Kyle's XBOX stuff- he turned it on and was very proud of himself:
One of Deakon obsessions (besides shoes and hats) is BALLS. He loves them so much. I looked over to find this yesterday morning:
Then he got up to get ANOTHER ball:
All 3 balls... I love that he is holding the top one with his mouth!!! Lol, so funny.

This is when we were eating dinner at El Rancho Grande. Deakon wouldn't stop looking at the people next to us! I am glad they found it humorous because it was hard to stop him:

Three things that rocked my world this week...
I can definitely say that I have had a pretty good week so far. We celebrated 3 years together and done some fun things. Here is a recap of my favorite things I have done:
1-Going to dinner at El Rancho Grande...
I freakin love El Rancho Grande. Kyle DOES NOT love it, but he surprised me with a willingness to let me indulge in my beans, rice, and deep fried Chimichanga (sp?) along with a never ending supply of chips and salsa. SO GOOD- Deakon loves it too. He helped me eat mine, along with a Cheese Enchilada. Thanks Ky!

2- After dinner, Kyle was in the mood to watch a movie of his choice- Jumper. I was like- "that's fair- I had dinner choice" (I was really thinking that is would be a good time to do some blogging or surf the net- for some reason I am obsessed lately with reading dumb articles from MSN) He found the movie, put it in, and before he had a chance to change the TV over to Video 3- I heard the music to... The Notebook. I love this movie so much- it is probably one of my favorites, along with Music and Lyrics(don't laugh). It is the first movie Kyle and I saw together and it was possibly the funnest date ever involving a piggy back ride, theatre seat jumping game (I made it up... don't ask), and eating a giant pickle. Plus some kissing, I mean a little peck at the end... let's keep this G rated people. Anywho, my point is that I got to go to an awesome dinner and watch an awesome movie... guess the lovey dovey feelings went on and on... stop rolling your eyes Kyle.
3- I love So You Think You Can Dance. It makes the summer time super awesome. This week was just as good- I am very sad that it is ending soon, but will enjoy every minute. Unfortunately, we will be out of town for the finale so for all of you that I talk to regularly that watch- don't SPOIL it for me. I can't watch it until the 11th of August.
The fun should continue into the weekend- I think we are going to try and make it to the Drive In Movies tonight, and tomorrow we are shopping for last minute things for our trip to Canada next week! I can't wait!

Flowers are for Pansies...
So, today while taking a coveted, quick shower while naps were underway, I heard the doorbell ringing. Kyle had warned me this morning that UPS would be by today bringing an online purchase for our trip next week so I know that I had to get it. I rushed to put a towel on and ran to open the door-only to find a gift for me!!! Kyle had ordered an Edible Arrangement Bouquet for me for our anniversary! Oh My Gosh- the fruit is so good. I have already eaten like 6 strawberries, several melon balls, grapes, and a CHOCOLATE covered orange slice- so refreshing and good. I will take this over flowers any day... I feel bad because all I did was write a few random sentences in the post below for my hubby. I love you babe- thanks again. You are awesome and sexy and the very best ever!

Ode to Kyle

Happy Anniversary to us! I just wanted to give shout out to my awesome husband who I love so darn much. You are my best friend. The one who can make me laugh at all times and keep me so happy. I love how hard you work for our family and how you always force me to not be a home-body and get out and have fun. Even if that just means window shopping at the mall. I love that we can see something funny and just look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking. I love just sitting on the couch and watching movies eating 94% fat free popcorn (lol, I know you really actually hate that kind). I love you so so much and your super sexy calves. Thank you so much for loving me, teaching me, and cooking meal after meal for me. I love you Kyle Steven William Gerrie! Happy Anniversary- it has been an awesome 3 years and hopefully many more to come!
Anniversary Survey
So, the correct answer was NONE of the above... trick question... we wouldn't do any of those things. I will just assume that is why nobody voted- jk. I am really not that self centered.
Today is our official 3 year anniversary though. We actually decided to celebrate on Saturday because it would be easier than today. The day started by Kyle getting off early from work (yeah!!!) and surprising me. I thought I wouldn't see him until after 5 and he was home by 1. We had asked my mom to watch Deakon so that we could go to dinner and a movie. (Thanks Mom!) We wanted to try some place new so we looked online at some places and decided on... Madelines Steakhouse in South Jordan. It was really yummy. I had pasta and Kyle had prime rib. It was a fun night!

Gateway
Here are some pictures shopping at the Gateway and in the car on the way. We had to cut Deakon's hair off because of Kyle's attempt(see post below) and you can still kind of see a small bald spot on the top(in the stroller pic):

I remember....
So, I finally remember what I was going to put in the last post- We went to Deakon's 15th month appointment (at 16 months...I forgot to make the appt so I was pushed back) and he is a nice, heavy 24 lbs. 6 oz. and is 30.9 in. tall. That puts him about 40% for both. Good job Deak. He has been in the 11 and 13 percentiles the last 2 times we have gone so I am glad he is growing. ALSO- I found the CAMERA!!!

Boring and Bummed
Of course we have been doing a lot of things this week and I still have yet to find my CAMERA. I am so bummed. After about 4 hours of deep cleaning, rearranging, rechecking, and going through both cars I am finally coming to terms that I have lost it and we will have to buy another. Argggg.... I even had pictures on it right now!!! Ok, ok, I need to calm down- I am getting all worked up over here. For all of you loyal "Gerrie Family Blog" readers, I apologize that you will have to come up with your own images as I explain what we have been up to this past week.
-My parents have a timeshare for a condo up in Park City so we went up a couple different days. It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone- swimming, eating, playing games, talking, riding the gondola, and shopping at the outlet mall. My mom took lots of pictures so maybe I will steal some from her and post them later.
-Sunday, Kyle attempted to CUT DEAKON'S HAIR... with his beard trimmer.... I will give you time to imagine the outcome...
do dee do dee do dee dee.... do dee do dee doo dee... TIME
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! I actually caught some of it on our video camera, but Kyle asked me not to put it on here... Should I listen??? Anyway, we got it all fixed up last night so our son looks normal now.
I thought I had one other thing to mention, but I forgot so until next time... Have a great Tuesday!

Anniversary Survey
50% of you guessed our anniversary right. I am sure that is because a lot of you that read this are in my family... Our anniversary is a week from today- July 22nd. It will be our 3rd. I can't believe how fast it has gone. Our lives have changed so much. Who would have thought we would still be together... jk, but really we have a house, a 16 month old baby(as of today!), and we are HAPPY!!! Sums up a perfect 3 years to me!

Lost...
I haven't really posted much from this week because I have lost my camera... Hopefully we can find it... somewhere... We are leaving for a trip in 3 weeks so I will be extremely upset if it doesn't show itself!

TV Survey
Last week's survey was a tie between Baby Borrowers and Design Star for our secret obsession. The correct answer is DESIGN STAR. We actually watch all of the shows I listed. I am really excited to watch the finally of Hell's Kitchen tonight... go Christina. We don't tell anyone that we love to watch Design Star, but we do. I am the only one who watches SYTYCD- love, love, love that show- and I can't get enough of Baby Borrowers (Kyle won't even sit in the same room when I watch it) It is just so good, makes me cry, and makes me feel so super smart because I have learned all of the baby stuff this past year and am a pro compared to those "little" kids... weird that I'm not a teenager still.

Fireworks and Family Time
We had a lot of fun yesterday for the holiday. We went out to lunch, walked around at Ikea, had some friends over for a BBQ, and did fireworks. Deakon loved the fireworks... TOO MUCH! He wanted to hold them and touch the flying sparks and run around the parking lot with Kyle. (We can't light fireworks on the condo grounds so we went to the church parking lot down the street) It was a chore keeping hold of him. Because we live across the freeway from Thanksgiving Point, we walked to a hill by our house and watched the fireworks show they put on. It was great because we didn't have to fight crowds and we only had to sit by 2 other families.

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Today is the first 4th of July that Kyle has had off in 3 years! I am really excited to have him home. I usually just hang out at home wishing we could go out. Last year he sold 3 cars so it is a big day, but he isn't in sales anymore so YEAH... day off!!! Hopefully we can go out and find some fun things to do!
