I have many posts to do... still trying to catch up on losing sleep. Deakon and Nixon finished their antibiotics and of course, Deak's ears didn't clear up so he is on fun little ear drops for the next 2 weeks.
Oh well, only 5 more sleeps until UTAH!
So excited...

EXCITING DUPAIX NEWS!!!
So very very very excited for my oldest brother Joe! He is leaving Navy to coach football for BYU! Just announced this morning, guess it is the PERFECT gift for my Dad's birthday! Happy birthday DAD! Monica and the kids are moving to Utah within the month, so flipping excited that they will be so much closer!
Love you, congrats!

Love you, congrats!

PROVO, Utah (Jan. 15, 2011) — BYU head football coach Bronco Mendenhall today announced Joe DuPaix has been hired as an offensive assistant coach on the Cougar coaching staff.
“Joe is an intelligent and energetic coach and a perfect fit for BYU,” Mendenhall said. “He has an extremely bright future in this profession, and we are fortunate he has chosen to join us as we move into this new and exciting time as an independent program.”
DuPaix (pronounced Due-PAY) comes to BYU with 13 years of coaching experience, including the past three seasons at the U.S. Naval Academy where he served as the slotbacks coach. Prior to Navy, DuPaix was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Cal Poly from 2004-2007.
“I am humbled and extremely excited to be part of the BYU football program,” DuPaix said. “BYU is a great institution with one of the nation’s top football traditions. I’m grateful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to BYU’s future success.”
Navy compiled a record of 27-13 (.675) during DuPaix’s three years in Annapolis, winning two Commander-In-Chief's Trophies, earning three bowl bids and ranking among the top 6 in the nation in rushing yards all three seasons. The Midshipmen went 9-4 in 2010 to earn the best record among football independents after tying a program record with 10 wins in 2009, including a 35-13 rout of Missouri in the Texas Bowl. In 2008, Navy led the nation in average rushing yards per game with 293.38. “Joe is a fantastic addition to our coaching staff,”
BYU offensive coordinator Brandon Doman said. “He has gained a great depth of experience during his coaching career, and Joe’s a BYU guy.”
Under DuPaix's tutelage in 2008, Navy slotback Shun White became the first slotback in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season as his 1,092 yards ranks 10th all-time in school history. White rushed for a school record 348 yards in the season opener against Towson and his 8.27 yards per carry average ranked second in the country.
In 2007 at Cal Poly, DuPaix directed an offense that ranked first nationally in total offense, averaging 487.1 yards per contest. The Mustangs finished sixth in the country in scoring offense (39.3 points per game), fifth in rushing offense (272.2 yards per game), 13th in time of possession (32:25) and 48th in passing offense (214.9 yards per game). In 2006, Cal Poly was ranked No. 23 in rushing offense, averaging 182.82 yards per game. The 2005 Mustangs finished the year 20th in the country in rushing offense (207.38 yards per game).
A quarterback for Southern Utah University in 1996 and 1997, DuPaix set an NCAA Division I-AA individual rushing record for yards by a quarterback during the 1996 season (1,246 yards). Southern Utah was ranked first nationally for team rushing in 1996 and finished second nationally in 1997. As a senior, he earned I-AA Independent Player of the Week honors with 218 yards rushing in a game against UC Davis.
DuPaix transferred to Southern Utah from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he earned Junior College All-America honorable mention. DuPaix was the MVP of the 1995 Real Dairy Bowl and his team finished the year ranked seventh in the country. That year, he passed for 2,482 yards and rushed for 832 yards.
A Salt Lake City native, DuPaix played football for his father, Roger, at Skyline High School. As a senior, Joe was the state MVP and led his team to its first state title of the 1990s. Prior to joining the coaching staff at Cal Poly in 2001, DuPaix was an assistant coach at Riverton High School in Salt Lake City from 1999-2000 and coached quarterbacks and receivers at the University of Missouri-Rolla from 1998-1999.
DuPaix is married to the former Monica Taylor and they have six children: Madeleine, T.J., Jackson, Scott, Bryson and Cooper.

Daily Bad Mommy Award...
Why does everything hit at once?
Kyle's boss has been out of town for 2 weeks. He finally gets back tomorrow Why does it matter if Kyle's boss is gone? When the whole department runs with just 3 guys, and one is missing, and the other one normally drives and therefore functions as half of a man when made to stay indoors all day, it causes stress. Stress at work usually means stress at home. And missed lunches, and going in early, and coming home late.
Nixon is sick... again. He got sick the 1st week of December with a cold/ear infection. Followed by me with my StrepFlu(made that up), followed by Deakon with the stomach flu, followed by Kyle with a migraine (and puke in the bathtub), followed by Nixon getting pink eye, followed by Kyle getting the stomach flu, followed by me getting the stomach flu (and the darn sore throat that stayed almost at entire month), followed by Nixon teething (finally got his first tooth Sunday morning), followed by Nixon waking up last night with a runny nose that has quickly turned the nastiest shade of yellow I have ever seen. I AM TIRED... Nixon hasn't slept through the night for almost 6 weeks. I often find myself asleep in the hallway or sitting up watching infomercials while he cries himself back to sleep, usually after I have given up and given his a bottle. Why are you still crying??? Your belly is full, you have been given cuddles. Your bum has been changed. GO.TO.BED.
My in-laws are re-doing their bathroom. Very exciting for them. It starts tomorrow and goes on for weeks. Weeks of peeps being here and banging around. Demolition is scheduled for first thing tomorrow. I just can't.... wait.... Besides them getting an absolutely gorgeous bathroom, the 4, err, 6 of us are sharing the one downstairs. I am already feeling constant pressure of having an absolutely clean bathroom everyday for weeks.
The boiler is broken. No in floor heating. Ok, we didn't freeze, but I miss my floors. It is getting fixed tomorrow... which means yet another man running around the house making noise.
I have this love/hate relationship with my cleaning job. I love the money, I hate the job. Why can't I just have the money? Please. Pretty please? The lab is moving in a month and so I lose half my hours. I will not lie, I am kind of happy, yet this is completely wiping out any "several week Utah stay with the boys" ideas that I have been mentally planning.
It is a new year. That means making plans to be better. I am too tired. Too tired. So tired. Maybe later.
If there was a daily bad mommy award. I would get it today. After the 2nd time Nixon was up (6:30) he miraculously fell right back to sleep and when Deakon woke up I gave him some breakfast and took a nap. This is not the first, or last time this will happen. I have excessive guilt, but I guess not enough to stop doing it. Things got better when we made our green smoothie and then Dad came home for lunch. Somedays this just throws off everything and once I get thrown off while I am tired I turn into a ridiculous person. WHAT, you want to eat some of the eggs I am hard boiling for me? WHAT, Nixon just woke up WAY too early from his nap? WHAT, you ate the rest of the pizza crusts the other night when I was at enrichment and although you claim to have told me, I have no recollection and therefore NOW I have to drive you back to work and run into the store to get the blasted pizza crusts which will mess up Nixon's 2nd nap, therefore he won't take one and I have to turn around and get the kids into the car at 5:50 to come and pick you up after work? No wonder I sometimes hear him mumbling under his breath "Why did I come home today?"
Yes, I yelled at Deakon several times at Safeway.
No, I did not care who was listening.
Yes, I let him pick out a donut.
Yes, I took away said donut after the little skateboarding stunts he tried to pull.
Yes, I ignored him while I checked out and walked out to the car.
Yes, I bribed him with said taken away donut to not cry while I forced him to take a nap, hoping to get both boys down for JUST 1 HOUR while I cleaned the bathroom.
Yes, Deakon went down.
No, Nixon did not.
Yes, I am wasting time ranting and raving on my blog.
NUMBER ONE WINNER....
I am quitting my day job and getting a new one.
Will I miss this?
Absolutely... NOT, that is wheat cereal (aka, POISON) and it is everywhere, and I had to give you another bath...
Ok, maybe I will miss it a little.
