SUMMERLAND (BACK POST)

This post should have been done forever ago.  There are tons of pictures and they are on Facebook.

Somehow my pictures got put in reverse order.  Oh well.  We were so excited about our trip to BC this past July because we love Summerland and because Meri, Shane, and Molly came!  I LOVE having visitors.  I was so happy that they came.  We had a great time with everyone.  

Of course we had to do at least one game night.  I think this was the 2nd to last night.

The view from the house was awesome.  The house was....... outdated and hot... but the view?  To die for.  It had a huge balcony which was great because the kids spent lots of time on their bikes and scooters and we could see everything from inside.

For the 4th of July, we got pizza and ate at a park for dinner.

We went quadding twice.  Ron and Doreen were so nice to bring their quad and let us all use it.

 We spent lots of time at a few different beaches.  The only downer was that Nixon broke his arm the week before we left so he couldn't get wet.

 The first day there was the perfect weather.  We headed to a great park to play.

I can't wait until we go back again!

Happenings

 It's Thanksgiving weekend here is Canada and I have been sooooooooo looking forward to this 4 day weekend.  It has been pretty good so far.  I'll let the pictures talk.  Nixon and Quinn went with Kyle to the grocery store tonight and Nixon insisted on getting me flowers.  This child is so sweet it kills me.  He tells me regularly that I am beautiful and pretty and is ALWAYS picking me flowers (mostly dandelions, but hey... its the thought that counts)  Deakon wanted to get in on the action.

 This past week Deakon told me that I was beautiful.... followed immediately by ducking his head and blushing like crazy.  He is SO much like Kyle.  I love it.  I'm sure that Kyle must have given compliments like that from the beginning.  After Deak got over his embarrassment, he confidently told me, "Seriously Mom, you are beautiful."  Melts my heart.  A huge goal of mine as a Mom is teaching my children to have respect and love and the ability to give sincere and meaningful compliments to the opposite sex.

Another thing I LOVE about weekends is getting everyone in our bed and chilling in the morning.  Love the bed head and extra cuddles.

 Yesterday I took the kids to gymnastics.  Thought I'd document that.  They loved it... I didn't really love it... but we had to try it once.  Obviously we spent most of the time in the foam pit.

So happy that I am only half way done with my weekend!  Tomorrow Deakon gives a talk in Primary. They were looking for someone last minute so of course I said yes before I asked Deakon.  Turns out... he REALLY doesn't want to and now I have given him the "sometimes in life we do things we don't want to" lecture too many times this week.  He hasn't had a hard time helping me write the talk, he just doesn't want to get up and give it.  Perhaps I will be giving the talk for him ;)

Missy Quinny

Took Quinn in for her annual check-up today.  Stats:  27 lbs. (55%) 37 in. (85%)

So grateful for good friends.  I survived yesterday because of some very much needed free entertainment, company, clothes, food, and love.  #fernandites #dirtydietcoke
