September flew by. I started back at work and Deakon started grade 1. It was a crazy, stressful month. Deakon is in a split class this year (1/2) at his new school (changed boundaries) It has been a huge change for him being with older kids and going all day.... plus the hour before and hour and a half after on the bus with me. The first few weeks he was absolutely exhausted. He is adjusting well, but he and I are fighting a cold that Nixon and Quinn had a few weeks ago. Being around kids all day on the bus makes for the bus driver and her kids to get sick... consistently. Luckily, we have haven't gotten anything to completely knock us down yet.
Not sure if I blogged about it a few months ago, but I was released as Primary Chorister (bittersweet) and spent the summer calling-less. It was a big change after being the chorister for almost 4 years. It worked out because we had a busy summer. Our trip to BC and multiple camping trips had us missing a few Sundays. Man, we had a good summer. Wishing I could go back a few months and relive it (maybe stopping in Utah!) Last month I was called as a primary teacher (CTR 4- kids turning 5 this year, Kindergarten). It is a busy class so I team teach with another lady. With Stake and General conference, plus a special 5th Sunday adult meeting, I have actually only taught my new class once so far. I think it will be fun.
Miss Quinny turned 2 in September! It's hard to think it has been that long. We had a joint family birthday dinner on the 15th (Ron, Aiden, Quinn, and Melanson cousins) and I made the cake so I didn't really plan to do much for her birthday. She got some new clothes from grandma and papa and a my little pony from Aiden. She also got a gift card from Nana Marilyn. My trainer at work (Renee) is basically an adopted auntie for my kids. She is always so good to give them personal attention and helped me get Nixon to stop bringing his soothers on the bus (don't get me started on the fact that he still has them. I'm weak!) She brought Quinn a whole bag of goodies for her birthday, book, strawberry shortcake figures, dress up princess stuff, flashlight, and lots of new hair clips. We love 'Nee. Kyle has been working 6 days a week the last few weeks so I have put off buying Quinn's gift from us. Hoping to head to Calgary to shop this week.
My little sister had her baby! She is actually a month old this Wednesday. I love new babies. Can't wait to meet Thomas and Deja! On Wednesday, my other little sister finds outs if she is having a boy or a girl. Oh, and also Eva (Bret's wife) found out that they are having a GIRL in January. It will be fun to have a little girl cousin around.
So far, October has been fairly uneventful. We had nice weather on Sunday, so after naps and finishing conference we went to the park and then for a little walk after dinner. I feel like we haven't seen Kyle is forever so it was nice to spend all day together. This week he is gone to work from 8:30-7:30 Monday-Thursday so Nixon and Quinn won't see him until Friday. But his schedule goes back to normal and no more Saturdays until November. Yay! Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend and then Halloween. The boys are excited for trick-or-treating.
Off to finish some laundry before the bus. Until next time.
