Everyone loves a good bath, right? The foaming bubbles, good book, and time alone are a perfect way to chill out after a long day. I imagine that is why my husband is in the bathtub... full of bubbles... reading my "LC" edition of Cosmo that he bought for me last night... So, if you could, please, in your mind, paste a picture of Kyle's face in the above picture and don't forget to take a time out every now and then!Welcome to our blog. We hope you enjoy the funny, gross, awkward, and happy events in our lives!!!

Catching up!
I absolutely love to blog... and so I have felt so bad the last couple of weeks when I have been MIA. I just didn't have my own computer set up to download my pics. It is a bit hard to do things normal when your life is chaotic.
We made the move alive over the weekend! I am so glad to be in Cochrane where I can actually go on a walk while passing lots of houses, animals, cars, stores, and parks! It is also cool because Kyle comes home for lunch everyday. Maybe a bit hard on him because he wants to stay, but it definitely makes my mornings so faster because I have something to look forward to after 5 hours. Deakon has been so happy to see all of our furniture unpacked and set up. He really seems more relaxed about this move versus a month ago. I still have about 40 boxes to go through and determine what stuff is staying in storage and what things we will be using... fun... I am sooo looking forward to that... not.
Anywho, I thought I would share some picture of Deakon. I swear he has grown a few inches in the last month. Nothing fits him and he is looking more like a little boy everyday. We cut his hair this week (no pictures yet) and I can't believe how big his head is (in a good way... growing... not a freakish way) I will get a picture up soon!

This picture is from the night we moved- The fam ordered pizza and then everyone split up and I couldn't find anything to make food for me with and I was starving and extremely cranky so I packed Deakon up and took him to DQ for a hot fudge sundae (great dinner pick, right?) and Deakon's first ice cream cone! Don't worry, Deakon ate beforehand. He absolutely love it!

Special Moments
Yesterday I was talking on the phone with my mom. Deakon started pulling on shirt saying, "hi-yo, hi-yo" (hello..meaning phone) so I let him talk to Grandma for a minute. I told him to say hi, so he did. Then I told him to say I love you, something that my mom and I have been working with him to say... and he did! It was the cutest thing ever. Lucky Grandma... first time just for you!

Happy Thanksgiving... Yesterday
Do you remember this song???
The pilgrims and the indians
had a pow-wow a long time ago...
Sat down and ate together,
and that is how Thanksgiving was born!

So, yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the great wilderness of Canada. We had Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday at Kyle's brother and sister-in-law's house(Scott and Sara). We had both Scott and Sara's families present. A lot of people, right??? Well, I counted about 25... which is about the amount of my family... so it felt a bit more like home with all of the craziness. At the same time, it made me really miss my family... I miss you guys so much. It will be so weird not to have Thanksgiving next month with everyone... or Christmas... ok, I need to stop thinking about it or I will cry. On to the happy news, yesterday we went to Kyle's brother and soon-to-be sister-in law's (Bret and Eva) new house for a yummy Thanksgiving breakfast. We came home and had ribs for dinner....and then...... Doreen and I made 2 loaves of gluten-free bread and a gluten free apple pie! I was/am so excited to have some good stuff to eat for the next little while. I took some pictures, but they didn't turn out so you can just imagine how awesome and good they are. For my first pie- I say it is the best darn pie I've ever made! I definitely won't be giving out my food at a convention or anything, but I am happy about it. Now... only 10 more days until the move into Cochrane and I will have a try at the bakery, a place that they are confident with sharing food with the whole world!

Apples, Kiwis, and..... Tomatoes?
Some of you might know that my son is quite a little oinker. Some people, hmm...Danny, tell me that I need to feed him and fatten him up. I don't even have to try. This kid is like a garbage disposal... or a garborator(sp?) as I should say now that I am in Canada. :) Deakon will eat so much, and almost anything you give him. The first couple days of this week I have been feeling so sick all because of some stupid eating-out choices I made that included hidden dangers... GLUTEN! My worst enemy of all time. I guess before I started my gluten-free diet I was used to being kind of sick all the time, but now that I have been feeling awesome it is so much more intense. I hate it!!! Stupid gluten... it should be made illegal...
Ok, on to my point, which is that I have been trying to eat better, fresh fruits and veggies are naturally gluten free. Today when I got out some apples and kiwis for a snack Deakon was as excited as I was. I let him sit on the counter while I cut everything up. Before I knew it, he had reached back into a bowl that held tomatoes, took a huge bite, looked up at me with his big blue eyes and said "Nummy!" How could I resist??? I cut it up with the rest of the fruit and we enjoyed apples, kiwis, and..... tomatoes!

Toddler Talk
I know I already posted a bunch of things that Deakon has started saying, but he amazes me all the time with his new words so I want to write them down do I can remember.New words/actions from the past 2 weeks:
-Apple (apples and tomatoes)
-Bath
-Puppy
-Breck (Uncle Bret)
-Sandwich
-Watch (He says this to us so we can 'watch' whatever he is doing, or he picks up the remote and repeats 'watch' 12 million times!)
-Go (He literally pushes you to go)
-Walk (we have been walking almost everyday- he loves it)
-Snack (Whenever he is hungry he tells me he needs a snack)
-Deaky (he started calling himself this just today)
-Hello (he says it like hi-yo or hi-low and he rarely uses hi, its always hello)
-Shirt
And.... of course pee-pee and poop. I thought it would be smart to start teaching him what those are to get a head start on potty training... was I crazy? When are you supposed to start the whole potty training thing anyway???

Not in the LOOP...
I feel like I have totally fallen off the earth into never never land. I need to get back into blogging so I can document this big change in our lives. We made it and have been trying to create some sort of schedule. I wonder every day if Kyle's parents really knew what they were getting into when they invited us to live with them... They are champs putting up with us getting our stuff worked out. We hardly had any trouble at the border so that was good. We love being here in Water Valley... it is so gorgeous, the view is incredible, tons of fresh air, 2 acres of green grass to run around on... sounds perfect... except that it is 30 minutes away from civilization!!! We move into Cochrane in 3 weeks and are excited. We have driven in a few times and I love it. There are just about 15,000 people there and tons of shops and things to do... PLUS the best part is that they just opened a brand new GLUTEN FREE bakery!!! I am super excited to try it out!!! I will have to post some pictures of our adventure soon. Have a great weekend everyone!
