How come...

Deak: How come you never do your videos anymore? (30 day Shred, Tae Bo, Yoga)
Me: Mmm... maybe because I'm pregnant.
Deak: So.

-----------------------------------------------------

Deak: How come you get to eat your candy before you have lunch?
Me: Mmm... because I'm pregnant.

-----------------------------------------------------

Deak: How come you are always sleeping?
Me: Because I'm pregnant!

It's like this child doesn't understand...

Family, Birthday, and Randoms...

Nixon, Aiden, and Kamryn

Grandma Marilyn and Kirsten came for an Easter visit so we met up with them Saturday for a brunch. The food was delicious, the company was great, the weather was gorgeous, and we went on a walk. Deakon and Brodey are 6 months apart and are so cute together. Nixon and Kamryn are 3 days apart, with Aiden coming in 6 months younger. Poor little Kamryn was sick and slept basically the whole time, but I managed to get a cute picture of her at the end. I just stole the above picture from Facebook so it is out of order... whatevs.

After brunch, Deak and Brodey ran upstairs to watch Shrek for a bit. They were so cute and cuddly.

My birthday was yesterday! Yay me :) We had birthday dinner and yummy lemon cupcakes.

I've been trying to download a video of Nixon walking for my mum, but it must be too big. Here are some still shots!

and some randoms of my little Nixon:So handsome:

And now for the randomness. Deakon and his HUGE feet. They are over half of Kyle's and Kyle wears a size 13. Yikes. When Deakon was 3, we found some of Kyle's medical records with hand prints when he was 7. Their hands were basically the same. Deakon is going to be a monster... or just a scrawny little kid with huge feet and hands.

And last, but certainly not least. Deakon's family drawings. He has started drawing everyone as skeletons. Here is Kyle (on the left) and Deakon in the middle. Kyle has an "awesome mustache" and "wings" and "cool hair"

And "little, baby Nixon"Oh, right. This really is the last picture. Last week I was so so so behind on laundry. I washed, dried, folded, hung up, and put away 12 loads in about 7 hours. This is what the house looked like... Guess I should be thankful that is mostly stayed in the play area.

Hope you all had a good Easter!

Boogers...

Mom, I have boogers on my shirt!

Why would you put boogers on your shirt?

I didn't. They just got there from my mouth and nose when I blessed you on my shirt.

..................................................

Another week. Yes, another week. I have videos and pictures to post, but I am currently on the in-laws computer so I guess they will have to wait. They are in Vegas right now. I got to get up nice and early (3:45!) and take them to the airport so I could use their car all week. :) It has been so nice to have 2 cars. We are trying to sell our Acura so we can get a bigger car to fit the billion car seats that we will need in the fall. Speaking of baby, Dr. Du Plessis' office called and I get to meet him May 2nd. I can't get my requisition for my ultrasound until then (I will be just shy of 19 weeks) so I hope the ultrasound booking people will be nice and let me squeeze in the next week. I am dying to find out the sex so we can pick a name. Ok, let's be honest, we pretty much have a short list of boy and girl names. Wanna know? FINE, you forced me.

Girl:
Quinn
Brynn

Boy:
Kingston
Jameson

The girl short list is the same for both of us. The boy list... that is another story. We originally both really liked Kingston, but I am losing my love for it. I came up with Jameson. Kyle said, cool, put it on the list. I started loving it, and knowing in my head that just like, "Deaky" and "Nixy" this little one would be known as Jamie at home. My little Jamie. I told Kyle. Kyle tried to remove it from the list. I told him it stayed. Hmm... now what?

Guess we hope for a girl!

Nixon

Nixon woke up Saturday and decided it was time to do lots and lots of walking. It has been fun to see him cruising across a whole room. I will have to get video very soon.

I often ask myself, "What is the point of cleaning up toys everyday?" They just end up in the exact same mess hours later. I get cleaning dishes and bathrooms and laundry, but the toys drive me insane. I think today I will just leave them.

I got a call last night about talking in sacrament... again. I should probably stop babbling and get going. Sunday will come quickly this week. Good thing I already pretty much have singing time planned out. I am teaching the kids "Scripture Power" (just started yesterday) and it was such a good song choice. They absolutely love it. Awesome.

Laid Nixon down for a nap 20 minutes ago. Deakon asked for one too... haven't heard a peep yet. If this is a new thing, BRING IT ON. A few hours to myself would be priceless.

AND, this is my reminder to keep the bathroom door closed: Thanks Nix!

Oh, hello Deakon. Guess I can't expect a 4 year old to nap. Although it was a pleasant 20 minutes.

Tidbits

After talking Deakon into putting on a nice sweater for church I told him how cute he looked. His response, "I don't want to look cute. I want to look cool and stylish."

Deakon purposely jumped off a ledge onto our armchair after I asked him not to. Me, "Excuse me, what do you think you are doing?" Deak, "Umm... I'm a scammer"

Grandma Marilyn got Deakon some rockin skateboarder themed rain boots and he has been wearing them every day. He has this awesome super hero raincoat to go along with it. He seriously couldn't be cuter. I need to get a picture.

Nixon has regressed to pureed foods, yogurt and crackers since he was so sick. It really sucks. Tried to feed him pasta in meat sauce for lunch. Purposely sucked the noodles dry and spit them out.

4 years old is a super hard age. I can't stand this whole "I am awesome and I can do whatever I want whenever I want attitude"

Deakon started 2 classes at the Ranchhouse a few weeks ago. Mighty Mites (group play, books, musical instruments, songs, etc) and Lil' Chefs. Last Monday at Mighty Mites when we were walking out he told me they read a scary book about monsters. I kind of played it off and didn't think much about it until the next day when I realized that he refused to go to the bathroom or into his bedroom by himself. No matter how we talked, showed, walked through, and prayed about he would completely break down and ask if he could pee his pants... I feel so mean getting to this point, but I can't go to the bathroom 7 times a day. Plus Nixon follows us in and gets into our recycling bottles, garbage, and toilet so it is such a pain. Saturday we went to Winners and while in the toy section Deak showed us "Where the wild things are" The scary monster book. Knowing what we were dealing with and knowing that he had seen part of the movie several months ago made things easier. Armed with a calm explanation, the promise to leave the shower curtain open, and a bulk bag of jelly beans Deakon is making every excuse possible to go potty all by himself. So nice.

We had chicken alfredo for dinner. It was a no go for all the boys... maybe they should have had my yummy corn pasta.

Yesterday we had the boys yearly dr. appts. Should have written numbers down because I forgot some of them. Deakon weighs 37.4 lbs.(90%) and I think is 42 in. (90%). Nixon made it up to 23 lbs. 5 oz. (70%) from 22 lbs. 13 oz. on Monday at his vaccination appt. Last Wednesday when I took him to urgent care he was 23 lbs. 8 oz. A few weeks ago I weighed him at home and he was just under 26. Anyway, his height was 85%. I can't remember the number. Everything was pretty good. Deakon got a nasty ear infection that wouldn't go away in Jan/Feb and his hearing hasn't been quite the same so Dr. Cote sent a requisition for a real hearing test. Hope they call soon.

I am 15 weeks today. Had an appt this week for baby and everything looks good. The boys loved hearing the heartbeat. Hearing Deakon try to describe how it sounds is priceless. We have decided not to deliver in Calgary, but to drive out west to Canmore. I am kind of excited as I have heard only good things about the small, quiet hospital and the 2 Dr.'s that deliver. I am hoping to have more of a personal experience compared to Foothills. I should meet my new dr. in a few weeks.

Enough splurging. Until next time.

Welcome.... ELI!

My sister, Jeannie, delivered "little" Elijah (Eli) Thomas on Monday!

We are so excited for another boy cousin! Things are going to be CRAZY at mom's house when all these boys are teenagers.

For real...

Joe has 5 boys

Jeannie has 3 boys

Debbie has/will have 2 boys

Danny has 1 boy

Angi has 2 boys

= 13 boys. 8 falling in the 0-4 year range.

And that is just from 5 of the 10 DuPaix kids.

4 little girls stuck in there too. Poor girls. :)

Anyway, back to baby Eli. He came out weighing a good ol'

8 lbs. 13 oz.

20.5 inches long

Sibs and parents are super excited! Can't wait to meet you Eli. You are very handsome and look just like your family. Love it and we love you.

Brent, Eli, and Ethan Lily and Eli
All the siblings: Ethan, Lily, Noah, and Eli

Congrats Jeannie and Brent! Good job!

Long week

Last Monday night we went and ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Definitely not as good as in the states... BUT I had been craving Mizithra cheese like no body's business and so we went. PS... does anyone know where I can buy it? I googled and someone said Sobey's. I will have to try because I am dying to have more and am not willing to drive to downtown Calgary and pay $12.75 for something I can easily make better at home. Anyway, while we were there my little piglet Nixon ate nonstop! He ate the inside of 4 pieces of bread, a jar of baby food, mum mums, little puffs, and shared Deakon's tortellini. We hurried home and put the kids to bed and I went to clean. Fast forward to 1:30 AM when we hear Nixon crying. Finally I went in to find his soother only to be greeted with the most awful puke ever. Woke Kyle and had him give Nix a bath while I did damage control in the bedroom. Nixon went right back to sleep until morning and woke up happy and normal. I blamed all the food the night before. But alas, the puking started again mid morning and he ended up sleeping 7+ hours during the day Tuesday and Wednesday (and sleeping through the night) between the puking and diarrhea. It was so awful and gross. He wouldn't wake up when he would do anything and just sleep in his own grossness. Poor baby. He couldn't/wouldn't keep anything down except small amounts of watered down formula all week. Yesterday was our first day of no puke and this morning he FINALLY ate real food (rice cereal and some applesauce) We have all felt so bad for our little baby. What a way to spend your birthday week. Wednesday night I took him to the clinic and he had lost 3 pounds. Probably more now. Anyway, we are doing good today and I am excited to watch Conference. Nixon having his 100th bath of the week. If he hears the bath turn on he immediately starts crying. Poor thing. When he was awake, he spent a lot of time doing this:
Last Saturday we FINALLY got a table for the basement. We also got a mini fridge. Woohoo. So so so so so so nice not to eat at the coffee table all week!
Before he got sick... he is going to be our little trouble maker:
My mom's neighbor, Rosalee made Nixon a hooded towel with his name on it when he was born. Deakon has loved it and begged to use it almost every bath so my mom asked Rosalee to make one for his birthday. He loves it even more because it has Spiderman . Thanks Mom and Rosalee!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I like we got like 6 inches of snow Friday night so we are trying not to be downers about the lack of spring.
