Yesterday was a great day! Kyle has to work this Saturday which meant that he got yesterday off. It worked out great because my Dr.'s appt. was scheduled for that day and I didn't want to take the boys. I also had a birthday gift certificate for an hour long massage! and hit up a few places ALONE... it was awesome. The boys had such a fun day being with Dad. Kyle got a chance to take Deakon to one of his classes and see a bit of what he does. Little side story, when Kyle went to pick up Deak and was helping him put on his shoes, another little boy came out of the class and started crying and said to his mom, "Why does his Daddy get to pick him up!?" It really is fun when Dads get to do everyday stuff. The boys were perfect for him. Nixon has such a strong attachment to Kyle right now. When Kyle comes home at lunch or at night, he leaves whatever he is doing and starts fake crying and crawling up the stairs to stand at the baby gate until Kyle picks him up. I came home yesterday kind of hoping for the same meeting... NOPE... nothing. He gave me a look and didn't move from Daddy's knee. What a punk. :)
Anyway, back to my appointment. As I said before, we decided to go out to the Canmore Hospital to deliver. This means a total of 10 appointments (if I go full term). I didn't know exactly how long the drive takes... I found out quick enough. It is about 45-50 minutes each way. Why would I do this to myself??? Would you like to know? Here are 3 reasons...
Walked out the door of the Dr.'s office and looked to the left:
I met Dr. Du Plessis and his magnificent mustache and South African accent. I really like him. I really like his nurse. I really like the receptionists and the head office nurse. Maybe these aren't a big deal to you, they are to me. The staff make or break the entire office for me. Everything looks good. I am just about 19 weeks. I have gained about 10 pounds... not too worried, but I know that if I lay off the sweets it wouldn't be so much. I just can't get enough chocolate or slurpees... hmm... and orange pop. Wow, that sounds awful.
Because I was in the waiting process of being referred, I hadn't gotten my requisition for my 18+ week ultrasound. He had his nurse call it in and she got me in for this Thursday at 1:00! With Nixon, it was about a 3 week wait. I can't wait. I am so excited! I hope it is a girl! I think this might be our last and I am hoping to get one of each.
Anyway, that is all I got for ya. Enjoy this picture of my sleeping Nixy Noodle. He is too funny.

That scenery is beautiful! That is so great you got to take a nice drive by yourself. Good luck on the ultra sound on Thursday!
I'd drive that far if it meant having my baby in the mountains. Canmore is the bomb, even if it isn't utah.
I want to live in the mountains.
