Skating...

Last winter, Bret bought Deakon some little training skates. We didn't go last year (I honestly thought he was just too little...) and he has been DYING to go this year. Every time he would see snow in the morning, he would ask if today was the day that he could go skating. We had to wait for a few weeks of really cold weather in December to freeze the outdoor rink, but then it was so close to our trip that we didn't take him before Christmas.
2 weeks ago, we finally gave the kid a break and took him. He was so excited all day (we- Bret and I- were actually going to go in the morning, but Kyle decided that he wanted to come) and he had so much fun! He did really well too. He feel down a bunch, but was so excited to get up and try again. Half the ice was dedicated to a hockey game, but nobody was there so he was really excited to go and get in the net and pretend to be goalie. He has had a thing lately for goalies- I am thinking it is probably the big face mask. These pictures aren't the best, but we had to document the fun. Too bad we have had such nice weather since and the ice is all melty. We will have to wait to go again when it freezes up again.
All bundled up and marshmellowy with his snow pants:
