I was completely frustrated yesterday with our new laptop not working... and then I realized that I am kind of retarded. I kept pushing the "add image" button and the usual window that pops up wouldn't come up. After wasting like 15 minutes and Deakon waking up, I exited out and saw that the dumb "image" window was just behind the main one. DUH!
Anywho, a few weeks ago, we were invited by Jenn and Justin to Banff for the weekend. They know somebody who has a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo that let us "rent" it out for a few nights. We met up and headed in after work on Friday. After getting our things settled we headed to downtown Banff to buy some food for the weekend and check out the scene. We then headed back, put Deak to bed, and did some relaxing. Saturday we woke up and cooked a nice big breakfast before heading downtown to do a little car tour of Banff. We headed down past the big golf course and took some pics and went on a little hike. Afterwards, we went and parked so we could do some shopping. We had no plans to buy anything and it was fun to window shop. The weather was fabulous and Deakon was kind of patient being pushed around. We headed back (we were so close to downtown, 5 minute drive) for Deakon's nap and hung out. The boys went and got a work out in and then we headed back to eat at "The Spaghetti Factory." It is so nice to go somewhere that caters to gluten free, WITH a dish that I seriously love: Mizithra Cheese and Brown Butter... ooo, my mouth is watering right now. Lame, right? After dinner, we hit another few places before heading back for the night. I had promised Deakon that we could go swimming so we changed into our suits and headed over to the pool and hot tub. The pool was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING so Deakon and I had fun dangling our feet in the hot tub (ok, Deakon was not very good and just keeping his feet in... naughty). Kyle actually was brave enough to jump into the pool and Deakon actually went with him and had few complaints, but I just couldn't handle seeing his purple lips and shaking body so they didn't stay very long. We headed back to the condo, put Deakon to bed, and watched a movie before heading to bed. In the morning, we packed up our stuff and went our separate ways. Kyle and I wanted to drive around and check out more of the gorgeous scenery before going back to Cochrane. It was such a fun weekend. It is so nice to get out and do something that we wouldn't normally do. Kyle kept saying to me on the way home "I had such a good time with you this weekend." It was great. The only complaint I have is that we only took pictures for the first hour and then completely forgot about it.
Kyle, Deakon, and Justin- when the snow is melted, this is a great spot for pics. I actually have one of Kyle and I the week before we got married standing here. My mom, dad, sister Debbie, and brother Stake came up for the Open House here and we did a day in Banff.

I just love the HUGE mountain in the background:
All the white snow/ice in the background is usually water and it was kind of funny to see all of the people walking on it:
Better pic, the rocks on the right are the edge of the water during the summer:
